2-40 Channel Soundbook Measurement System

Description

Soundbook by SINUS Messtechnik GmbH

Portable Multi-Channel Measurement System

The Soundbook_MK2 is the second generation multi-channel data acquisition and analysis system developed by SINUS Messtechnik GmbH for sound, vibration and general engineering measurements. It is based on 24-bit ADCs with an advanced filter processor which are combined to provide the highest precision, a large number of channels and a high signal bandwidth.

The Soundbook_MK2 incorporates the robust Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 laptop computer.

The Soundbook is designed to work as a portable instrument virtually everywhere, in the office, in the factory and in the field. The Soundbook works reliably, even in the presence of heat, cold, rain, dust, vibration and hard impacts. A Soundbook has a weight of only 3 kilograms, a robust magnesium case, a rotatable, bright TFT display, low power consumption, various  and multiple sensor interfaces, and when all combined has the performance of a high-quality Class 1 instrument along with power and capabilities of a PC. Data may be recorded with multiple measuring channels with LEMO7 or BNC input connectors to suit the application and sensor requirements.

The Soundbook is especially well suited for:

  • Occupational safety and environmental protection
  • Engineering services
  • Quality assurance
  • Research and development
  • Sound level measurements
  • Frequency analysis
  • Signal recording
  • Human vibration measurements
  • Pass-by noise measurements
  • Building acoustics
  • Machinery vibration measurements
  • Modal analysis
  • Order analysis
  • Structural analysis

Features

The Soundbook_MK2 complies with IEC 61672-1 Class 1 and is calibratable with up to 40 measuring channels.

Splash water and dust protected design enables operations under harsh environmental conditions

The Soundbook has a very bright LCD display which may be used as a notebook or as a tablet-PC. The Panasonic TransflectivePlus display technology ensures perfect readability even in direct sunlight.

The Soundbook has high performance while maintaining low power consumption. Data processing may be conducted anywhere.

Data acquisition and real-time data analysis may be conducted with all channels at full band-width for long time periods.

Soundbook with the standard SAMURAI software makes the Soundbook a virtual measuring instrument for time signal , sound level meter, 1/3 or 1/1 octave and FFT analyser and reverberation analyser. All values are calculated in real-time. For each channel SAMURAI allows data acquisition and real-time analysis, as well as post-processing of measured values without the need for data format modification due to the use of different software applications.

All SAMURAI software options may all be used with the Soundbook.

Data collection and analysis using the Soundbook may also be managed using MATLAB software and the SINUS Matlab Toolbox.

The number of channels may be expanded to up to 40 channel by the addition of Soundbook_Expanders and the Apollo_Sync_Hub

Up to 8 slow process signals with 24bit DC…200Hz, external triggering, or speed measurements with 2 tacho channels, as well as connection to GPS is possible with the SINUS Soundbook.

The Soundbook may be connected to ICP/IEPE sensors and also provides sensor polarization voltages of 20V, 63V and 200V.

Sounbook_MK2 offers wired sample synchronization with less than 0.5° phase difference at to 80kHz. Highly precise GPS pulse synchronization with an accuracy of less than 25ns allows data synchronization over a network of measuring stations that are located kms apart.

The Soundbook interfaces seamlessly with other software packages, such as MATLAB, LABView, Noise Works for Windows and MEScope modal software.
